Coach or Teacher?

Well, that depends on the education perspective you build learning-teaching process from!

I started working in 2016 through 2019 full, as Spanish Coach for German students, as part of a NGO program myself coordinated in Manizales, as well as in Medellín, Colombia. Previously, I worked as independent Spanish teacher in Chile.

As Speech and Language Pathologist myself, I'm aware on the therapy processes underneath the acquiring of a certain skill. In my case, specially regarding Language (both the capacity and the code: Spanish, English, German, Portuguese and so on), Communication, Speech and Voice.

All of those are total different elements.

The practice, and culture that comes with every student, is a whole different world too.

So, this is a very dynamic process.

Therapy and Teaching are different, basically in one thing: the amount of people per session.

So therapy goes focused on 1 person, is peer-to-peer, though it's even more focused and analytic than teaching itself, just due to a formation basis thing. I'm not judging of putting one upon another, they're both necessary.

Teaching is made for a grupal instance.

We know there is Special Education, which is a hybrid between therapy and pedagogy, because it is made to observe the specific qualities a person has developed in their way to put skills in the game.

Coaching, is a different thing too, but comes certainly as a hybrid between these former two. Also it comes with a very strong command from inside: functionality.

This means, we need to focus quickly and effectively the need that comes first in the struggle to acquire a certain skill —in language. And my work attacked the principal language and communicative skills needed to develop through a certaing context. That context was to be able of managing children groups

That's why I use Language Coaching.

Now, either Professor, or Teacher, of course it can work. But i'm not a regular at teaching, that I know for sure.

Contact me if any doubts attack. And my students from the video can tell a bit more too!

You may contact me by e-mail or through the below form, I'm pretty aware of both, except both on sunday or monday —my days off.

Have a wonderful day!
